Track Trails

Steve Tompkins Formula Mazda Time Trails are driving events were one car at a time takes on the course and the clock. Race tracks and airports are the normal venue. These events are less restrictive than Solo or RallyCross events but lack the wheel to wheel issues of Club Racing. Level One and Two events allow most street cars without modification. Track Trails and Hill Climb cars need some safety equipment. Drivers must be SCCA members and have a Time Trials or Club Racing licenses except for Performance Driving Experience. A Novice licenses can be obtained at most events. The Time Trials format also allows multiple drivers per car.

Time Trails were formally know as Solo I events. The program name and the category names changed in 2005 along with some rule changes. The program also moved from SCCA's Solo Department to the Club Racing Department.
